On Saturday, April 5th, I had the pleasure of attending the Detroit Fashion Choice Awards (DFCA) Pre-Day Soirée — and let me tell you, it was the perfect way to kick off the 2025 DFCA weekend in true Detroit style.
Hosted at the gorgeous new Minnie’s Detroit in the historic Woodbridge neighborhood, this exclusive afternoon affair brought out Detroit’s finest — from fashion insiders to influencers, creatives, and community leaders — all gathered for one unforgettable vibe.
Curated and hosted by the radiant Sabrina Athena of The Goddess Workshop (who is also co-hosting this year’s DFCA alongside Daniel Baxter, the event was nothing short of electric. We were treated to a high-energy soundtrack from DJ Tay Made, while sipping and snacking on Minnie’s signature brunch bites and cocktails.
This wasn’t just an event — it was an experience. Beyond the networking and stylish scene, the soirée had heart. As an official DFCA-affiliated gathering, a portion of the proceeds supported amazing causes including Detroit Dog Rescue, Detroit Fashion Community, and We See Greatness in You — reminding us that fashion and philanthropy can go hand in hand.
Highlight of the Day: The Fashion Fantasy Raffle Giveaway
Now this… THIS was the moment everyone had their eye on. The Fashion Fantasy Raffle was stacked with luxury prizes and VIP experiences that had us all on the edge of our seats:
