On the evening of August 8, 2024, Detroit’s creative elite gathered at Canvas Detroit for a night of fashion, culture, and connection at the highly anticipated LIFE IN PINK: A DETROIT BY DESIGN FASHION [X]PERIENCE. Hosted by the dynamic duo Rich Rice of Detroit By Design and Rodney Howell of Socialite Detroit, this exclusive event celebrated the city’s burgeoning fashion scene with flair and sophistication.
Entrance Worthy of Detroit’s Finest
Guests were greeted with a striking pink carpet entrance that set the tone for the evening’s bold and stylish ambiance. As attendees entered, they were welcomed with a reception cocktail and a delectable antipasto spread, perfectly paired to ignite the senses and foster mingling among Detroit’s most fashionable socialites.
Immersive Fashion and Design
The evening’s programming was a curated journey through Detroit’s fashion landscape. Pink lounges and a chic wine and cocktail bar offered a comfortable yet luxurious setting for guests to relax and network. Several photo op spaces captured the evening’s vibrant energy, allowing attendees to capture memorable snapshots of the experience.
One of the night’s highlights was the designer vignettes, featuring the incredible work of Siana Treece, a designer celebrated in British Vogue and Elle Magazine. Her creations brought a touch of high fashion to the event, reflecting the innovative spirit of Detroit’s design community.
Adding to the artistic atmosphere, Gucci Changemaker Nabeela Najjar presented a stunning installation under her moniker Seamstressbee. This display captivated guests with its intricate detail and storytelling through fabric and design. Additionally, Emmy-nominated TV Show Host Elizabeth Atkins took the stage to launch her empowering new book, “Activating Your Goddess Power,” inspiring all in attendance with her message of self-discovery and empowerment.

Music played a vital role in the evening’s success, with Andre Terrel, The COOL DJ (presented by The Street Pass), curating a playlist that kept the energy high and the vibes immaculate.
