Lately, I’ve found myself standing in front of my closet, pulling out those<\/em> dresses\u2014the ones I used to wear effortlessly in my 20s. The barely-there minis. The chain dresses with the sides cut out that have been collecting dust, waiting on the \u201cright moment\u201d (or maybe the right mindset).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s be real\u2014somewhere along the line, I internalized the idea that there\u2019s an expiration date on certain styles. That with age comes a set of rules we\u2019re expected to follow. But who wrote those rules anyway? And why did I quietly agree?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lately, I\u2019ve been taking my health and fitness seriously. I\u2019ve been showing up for myself three times a week with my personal trainer. And let me tell you\u2014it\u2019s been showing on<\/em> me. Not just in my body, but in my confidence, energy, and self-love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So this July, I didn\u2019t just wear the mini. I wore the<\/em> mini. The naked, skin-on-display, cut-out chain dress I\u2019ve been too shy to rock for years. And I felt amazing. Not because I was trying to look like my 20-year-old self, but because I\u2019m proud of the woman I am right now<\/em>\u2014strong, present, and unbothered by what anyone else thinks is \u201cappropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dressing for your age? I am.
And she\u2019s choosing bold. She\u2019s choosing body. She\u2019s choosing herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
