On Saturday, March 22nd, I had the absolute pleasure of attending Coffee Break with Angela Yee<\/em> at the incredible CRED Caf\u00e9<\/a><\/strong>. Located in Detroit\u2019s Rivertown District, just steps from our internationally acclaimed Riverwalk, this prohibition-era-inspired caf\u00e9 transformed into the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of coffee, cocktails, and community. Sponsored by Coffee Uplifts People (CUP)<\/a><\/strong>, Angela Yee\u2019s premier coffee brand, the event was a sensory delight from start to finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Unforgettable Experience at CRED Caf\u00e9<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From the moment I stepped into CRED Caf\u00e9, I was captivated by its cozy, intimate ambiance. By day, it\u2019s a charming neighborhood caf\u00e9, but by night, it unveils a hidden speakeasy that takes you back to Detroit\u2019s roaring Prohibition era. The space was alive with energy\u2014laughter, great conversations, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The custom “Coffee Break” cocktail created by Avery Taylor<\/a>, featured four carefully curated coffee-infused cocktails, each with a unique spirit base\u2014rum, tequila, gin, and bourbon. The “Inner City Brew” stole the show for me! It offered the perfect balance of espresso, Bulleit Bourbon, toasted almond bitters, and maple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of the event was the strong sense of community. Coffee Break with Angela Yee<\/em> wasn\u2019t just about sipping great coffee; it was about celebrating culture, connection, and empowerment. As an advocate for diversity in the coffee industry, Coffee Uplifts People<\/strong> is doing more than just roasting beans\u2014it\u2019s redefining the coffee experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2020 by Angela Yee, Tony Forte, and LaRon Batchelor<\/strong>, CUP operates with a 100% People of Color (POC) supply chain, ensuring that their mission of equity and inclusion touches every part of the coffee-making process. With direct-trade relationships spanning Ethiopia, Peru, Indonesia, Mexico, Kenya, and Brazil, they\u2019re making a real impact\u2014one cup at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
