Biography

Lauren Marie Woodson was born January 14, 1988 on an air force base near Marquette, MI. After living in Wichita Falls, TX and Rantoul, IL, Lauren settled in Detroit, MI at the age of 5. Ever since she was a little girl, creativity flowed through her, especially in music, drawing and drama. By the time she was three-years-old, she was already painting pictures on construction paper and selling the “art pieces” to her family and the neighborhood parents anywhere from 50¢ to $3.50.

Originally, Lauren started off aspiring to be a fashion designer, which slowly turned into fashion modeling. At 13-years-old, top modeling agencies began to take a liking to her, such as L.A. Models, Elite Model Management, Look Model Management, New York Model Management, a few agencies in Italy, and more. Being an all “A” honor roll student and enjoying participating in all of the church plays and fashion shows, Lauren decided to wait on the modeling career and graduate before taking on the responsibilities of adulthood as such a young age.

Lauren attended McFarlane Elementary, Post Elementary and Detroit Edison Public School Academy. She majored in Fashion and Theater at Cass Technical High School, graduating in 2006. That fall, she relocated to Midland, MI where she studied Fashion Marketing & Management. Soon after, she studied Fashion Design at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Troy, MI.

After college, Lauren decided to get back to her love for modeling, doing several photo shoots and fashion shows for local Detroit Boutiques such as Instinic Collections, Glover’s Apparel, Palage Studios, Mark England and Prodigy Women’s Apparel.

Wanting more work in a field she loved, Lauren began sending her portfolio out to many different agencies around the country, attending many interviews with a variety of agencies and management companies. However, only the smaller agencies picked her up. Unfortunately, these agencies rarely got her work. She was denied representation from the top modeling agencies. They turned her down over and over, telling her she was too tall, too skinny, not thin enough, and just plain NO, “We aren’t looking for your type.” Lauren took a break from the cold modeling world.

Later Lauren gave birth to a beautiful son on June 28. Inspired by him, the flame of purpose was sparked again! She decided to go full speed ahead into a model career, determined to be successful in it this time around.

In 2010 Lauren signed with RGA Model Management, The Affiliated Group, and Productions Plus-The Talent Shop. She’s done print work for Pelle Pelle, NV Designs, The Siana Treece Collection and GGURLS.COM. She has shot music videos for Rashad Morgan, K. Jon, Trigg Da Kidd and Dwele. She has done fashion shows for Saks Fifth Avenue, IADT’s Imagine Show, and promotional work for Madd Money Management, Conway Mackenzie, and made her film debut in Sparkle, the remake!

Before leaving Michigan, Lauren’s desire is to grace the covers of her favorite local magazines in Michigan – Hour, Ambassador and Style Line! Also, she wants to start her own charity for battered woman and homeless mothers with children. Her future endeavors involve helping people get off of welfare and become financially stable and independent.

With years of practice and experience under her belt, Lauren is continuing to pursue her career on a professional level, looking for national and international work, including ad campaigns for makeup, clothing companies and household product lines.
